there should be no problem with the car acc. but if you do keep the car intake use the ls6 intake as they say they flow better than the ls1 intake.

Yup, I switched out my 4.8 and just used the intake and all the stuff on top. It worked out fine but I have to fix this oil pressure problem I have and still waiting on my nelson tune so it's parked right now.

Hey man I'm from Midland. I have an LS-1 in my truck and I LOVE it. I went from a 16.8 in the 1/4 to a 14.1 with just the swap, and a 3000 stall, NOTHING else. I think with your ex-cab, and a cam, you should be runnin some mid 14's, possibly some low 14's. Hit me up sometime, I'd like to check your truck out.

Later,
Austin

But I still have a major problem with how difficult he's making it sound. You went from a V6 to a V8...of course the sensors and such are in a different places. It's basically a GEN I SBC, minus two cylinders. Swapping any GEN III engine into a truck already equipped with a GEN III engine just doesn't require all of the wiring and fabrication that he's talking about. I know there's a few differences, but it doesn't require making a custom wiring harness.
