Hey man I'm from Midland. I have an LS-1 in my truck and I LOVE it. I went from a 16.8 in the 1/4 to a 14.1 with just the swap, and a 3000 stall, NOTHING else. I think with your ex-cab, and a cam, you should be runnin some mid 14's, possibly some low 14's. Hit me up sometime, I'd like to check your truck out.

you're also using every single component from the original v8 truck setup in yours though, you didnt replace anything electrical, only the physical shortblock. when using all the components from the LS1 you run into an issue with every bit of the electrical being different, starting from the computer being absolutely opposite, to all of the factory sensor locations being different, to power configurations and sensor setups being different, to all of the interfaces between systems being different (a/c controls, switched interfaces, etc), etc etc etc I can be more specific if you need, but its easier to get a feel if you find an fbody or vette pinout or engine wiring diagram and one for your truck, and then stare/compare... first thing to start with when comparing the swap you did with the swap in question, is that the computers themselves are COMPLETELY different in their actual wiring and terminal controls. from there, it gets more and more complicated when mapping, since you actually have to merge the two harnesses and control systems and then program the computer to accept both and make them interact. lets just say the hours involved in the first one ran into the hundreds.
