Default Any gain with a Fbody cam?

I have a 02 Tahoe. I race a 98 Z28 and I work on LS1 cars. I have many stock cams I swapped out for customers. I was thinking about installing one in my tahoe. Has anyone done this and did they see any gain?

One of the guys on base did it in his 4.8 RCSB Z71. He loves it. He got more power and gas mileage. I'm not sure how it would work in a 5.3.

Yes, you would need a stall to get the most out of it. This cam is weak in the lower RPM range because it was not designed for a 5k pound truck. Consider getting an 01 ls6 cam instead if you can find one.

dont get an 01 cam just wasting time its going to be just as week as the 02 cam down low but wont make nearly as much power as the 02+ does up topyou dont need to have a convter for the 02+ cam yes it would help to get the most out of it, but your still gone see some good gains from it.

01 ls6 204/211 525/525 116
02+ ls6 204/218 551/555 117.5

Your best bet is to just do a search on both on these cams and how they perform on our trucks and draw your conclusions..

190/191 457/466 on a 114 lsa

That set up is definately worth it for $150. If you don't take them, let me know who is selling them and I will take them.
