I love the old Walker Super Turbos, Awesome mufflers. Had two on my 67 Impala SS with an H-pipe.

I am interested in this also, I have the catback he tested with a set of Dynatech headers and the noise is getting old. I am with 02 on this one, silent but deadly. I was thinking of going back to stock also.

I have the new "6.0 cat-back Flowmaster" on my '02 Denali and it sounds absolutely perfect. I talked to the tech over there and they said the 6.0 is by far the most impossible motor to get the "right" tone with no drone. Guess what, they nailed it. There is no question in my mind that this is the best sound I could have asked for. It comes with a resonator and a 50 series mufler, and a 4" tip. Very nice setup.

Now, my problem is I have to take it off in a couple weeks for the STS kit!!!

Does your Magnaflow have the resonators in front of the muffler? If not I think you may be able to add the resonators from Magnaflow but I don't know if that will cure the resonance for you. Try Magnaflow and see what they have to say.
Oh, you are right, I forgot to include the X pipe. And the drawing is more of a quick schematic, the bends are not meant to be 90 degrees like thate
Yes, my Magnaflow had the resonators before the muffler, but it still was pretty annoying (to me, anyway) on the freeway, especially on long trips. Interestingly the drone would quiet down after about 80 mph, but that is not too practical on long trips, unless you like to meet the local CHP

David, I agree with you mine doesn't quiet down until 70 mph. I think I am going back to stock.

Have you really considered what performance gain you would lose if you ran the factory exhaust? I bet my Magnaflow cat-back only picked me up like a tenth....two at the most. If it bothers you that much I would just run the stock set-up and see how it runs with that. My Magnaflow bothers me at times, but usually it isn't that bad. I did loosen up all of the clamps and pull the tailpipe as far away from the body as I could...like an inch and 1/4 gap between the tip and the bed of the truck. Believe it or not this helped with some of the resonance that I was experiencing. Anything aftermarket set-up that offers a signifigant gain in performance is going to make more noise...I convinced until prooven otherwise.

I own The exhaust shop in birmingham, I've had good luck installing X-pipe, 2 magnaflow # 12256's 2 1/2" tail pipes and tips not over 3" in diameter. You don't get the resonance near as bad and it's not raspy like the dual in dual out . Sounds great.
