Default Any benefit of LS6 Manifold on the truck motors?

Just curious, I have an LS6 manifold that I've been sitting on for about a year now, and w/the 4.8L I know it should fit, but the real question is will there be a benefit from it? I don't use the truck for hauling much, so the low end torque that the stocker manifold is designed to help create is no big deal. I'll be swapping out converters soon anyway and going w/a 4000 5disc Vigilante.

Thanks

Not unless you plan on doing a high RPM cam that needs to be shifted over 6.5K. Power over 6k I htink is where the LS6 would be of benifit. Otherwise I don't think it's worth the effort.

There have been quite a few comparisons on this. The truck intake is actually better up to 5000rpm and then the LS6 catches up, but only by a few HP and TRQ. The car guys cannot run the truck intake due to the height difference ( the truck model is 2" taller and hits the hood ).
Due to the modifications required to the belt drive system and water pump swap the conversion is not worth a few extra high RPM ponies IMHO.

Talking

there are f bods that have installed hoods with scoops so that they can run the truck intake which yielded more torque. with a truck being a brick torque is needed more.

No difference in design, only injector size on the 4.8L vs the rest. BTW, the truck injector connectors are different that most of the GM car ones, be careful when upgrading else some mods to the connector are required.

now that you mention it I remember seeing that article in Car Craft about all the intakes. The truck intake did perform very well.

There is no difference in the truck MANIFOLDS...but the truck THROTTLE BODIES are different, the 4.8/5.3 uses a 75mm TB while the 6.0 uses an 80mm TB, there IS power to be gained there
