Parish talk with 'Y2KHAWK' Harlan about stainless materials to make turbo headers. He seems to have a lot of knowledge about that sort of stuff.

I can't wait until you have this kit running in your truck parish I remember doing an AWD launch on 8psi of boost in a gmc Typhoon. It was soooo much fun!

 

The Stainless is a 316TI
Ti means there is some titaniuim in it
Apparently this 316 stuff is used on airplanes alot because it can handle temperature changes very well without Cracking

I forgot to ask earlier GMC SKI, what is the purpose of having titanium in the steel do you know? Is it a molecular expansion thing?

 

I belive our Fighter/Trainer jet is made out of 316TI. It's a Polish jet made in the 70's, it's nothing like the new jets with carbon fiber and stuff like that. We use 316 for our chemical mix tanks and fuel/water tanks. My father has been useing them for twenty years and they look new except for a few dings and dents (caused by the help). I also think our ag airplains are made of 316TI also, I'll look into that.

The Ti in the material extends the heat capabilties of the 316 some more to the 900 Degree range as far as i can tell

i dont know this for a fact but i am 99% sure this kit has no chance of being legal in california. the kit gets rid of the factory y pipe and replaces it with a single pipe, they do put a single high flow cat on the base kit. wouldn't that cat change be enuff for it to never pass cali emmisions?

This kit wouldn't be legal in California for sure, unless the company spends a lot of money to get it CARB certified. Here in California you will fail even if your intake isn't CARB certified in some cases. I forgot if they look for numbers before testing on the rollers here in Cali. Either way, if you don't have legalized CARB numbers you won't pass, even if you pass the emmission output requirements. Parts that aren't listed as CARB legal, equals failing the test and a pretty good fine, unless you go to one of the try until you pass places. Thats the one shitty thing about living in this state, although you can register your vehicle in some CA county's and never have to be smogged here.
