Another intake part...

Well what do you guys think? If you look at the dyno on there the A/F is waaaaaaay off it seems to me on the first run. 13hp/23tq! Sounds a bit far fetched...

Excellent, do keep us posted.
I was thinking about C5's again (I WILL have another) as they can go absurdly fast with just some bolt ons...and I stumbled upon the Vararam intake setup. Apparently they work great and so I went to their site and saw this truck piece.

that dyno is crap, on the first run it looks like it didn't go out of closed loop till the run was mostly over, either they didn't floor it at all or they floored it later than the 2nd dyno and there is a PE delay. either way they need a beter dyno test.
i dont doubt that it could help some bt if you goto look into the shanon or bower(i think) sites you can see where they do all that smoothing AND increase the actual inlet size. there is some kind of reduction right before the blade that that thing wont get rid of and now they actualy remove 1/2 or the shaft.
some unbiased dyno tests should be interesting, it would be nice to test one of the other popular ported TB's at the same time.

Greg - How did you get to test this thing out.
It looks like they just molded a ported TB and made the part.
If it works as well as a ported/filled TB then it'll be worth the $49.

The part does not decrease the inlet size. It tapers and stops before it gets to the blade. It basically looks like an ecentric reducer.
i cant wait to see the dyno numbers

I have a Bauer ported throttlebody and the inside lip around the throttleplate is removed. The ported throttle makes a noticable difference in performance at the expense of throttle response. The loss in throttle response is noticable during cold engine operation.I attribute the loss in throttle response to the removal of the inner lip. It's possible that the insert could give most of the benefits of a ported throttle without the downside.
