Default Another exhaust question

I might answer my own question by the time I type this out, but let's give it a try. I've been creeping all over this forum and have found lots of great info, but sometimes the info is spread out over many different threads. Here is what I have gathered. Headers with 1 7/8 primaries are better than 1 3/4 primaries if you have no plans of going bigger than a NA 5.3 and always 3" collectors. The exhaust itself is good at either 3.5 single or dual 2.5 with either an x or h pipe. If any of this is wrong, please help correct me.

Now my 1st question is about the headers. When it comes to fitment and longevity do any of you guys see a big difference between the lower cost headers ie. pacesetters and TSP vs. the high end pieces from ARH, Stainlees Works or Kooks?

Second question is about y pipe vs. duals. Is the biggest difference going to be sound only?

Thank!

1 3/4 would be better for n/a 5.3 in my opinion. i have the kooks and like them but they are pricey. 2 years and no rust not garaged.

End goal is a tvs1900/2300 6.0, so i was going to build accordingly. Will the bigger primaries hurt me that bad?

i think the higher price is more for name and a little bit better fitment. the cheaper headers should last just as long (if they are stainless) as the more expencive but may need more work getting them in there.

now as far as pacesetter and tsp/calspeed/lpp, i wouldn't get the pacesetters as they are plane steel or steel coated that can burn off and rust. the other 3 should be good as they are stainless steel. for what you want i would go with the 1 7/8 primary's but for a regular 5.3l bolt on id say the 1 3/4 is more then enough.

My tsp ss LT headers fit perfect, plenty of clearance, and I slid both sides in from the top.my HD truck came with duals from the engine so I left it that way. I like how it sounds.
