Default Another Dumb Question..on the timing cover

ok now i feelin stupider and stupider..(yep thats a word) on the timing cover should i get a new o ring gasket or should i put some silicone on it??

I like to replace the timing cover to block gasket and crank seal when I remove the cover, and put silicone in the corners where the timing cover meets the oil pan.
