Default Another damn question about pacesetter Lt's

Ok first question is, where the pacesetter long tubes mate up with the ORY pipe can it be band clamped or does it have to be welded?

2nd question can the long tubes be made to fit the Stock y-pipe with cats, or is it just too much effort.

The Pacesetter longtubes can be mated up to the ORY using clamps, Most people here use Accuseal Clamps. I havent heard of any complaints of leaks with these clamps, these are suppose to be really good if not the best!

Too much effort plus i dont believe the stock Y is 3" like the collectors on the LT's

when you buy the LT's and y pipe they come with clamps so you do not have to weld them. i dont think there is anyway they will fit the stock y pipe they are way too long its pretty hard to get cats in there at all.

are the clamps worth a damn they send?

Those accuseals looks good for only 7.50 a piece.

they ORY on my truck would bolt up to the stock exhaust actually...
just my 2 cents on a good setup that's still OBDII safe and "legal" - go to a muffler shop and have them make some extensions come off the headers and past the tranny x-member and then put the pacesetter y-pipe after the x-member and maybe weld the cats inline after the x-member too. This way you can make use easily of all four O2 sensors and it won't mess with your head and give you 10 error codes like my truck did lol. My sounds damn good setup that way and it only took the guys about an hour to extend the y-pipe. Makes for a much much much easier install. The majority of my time was taking off the x-member to do the ORY. And the accuseals are good clamps, but goto summitracing.com and get the Walker or Dynomax band clamps, they have 2 bolts instead of just one like the accuseal and they're bright annealed 304 stainless and comes with grade 8 stainless bolts can't beat em for 8.50 a piece.
