Default Another corvette servo question....

Ok guys tell me this. I remember in a different forum people were saying that you have to install a shift kit if you want to install the corvette servo. Now I have heard that if you install JUST the servo you will blow 1-2nd or 2-3rd, something like that. Is this true guys? Can I just put in the servo itself without the shif kit?

You can put the servo in without doing a shift kit. Servo is on side the trans.(passenger side under round cover) and a shift kit goes in the valve body. I have a vette servo in mine and wasnt fully impressed untill i got my Predator Programmer and played with the trans settings

Is the predetor programmer a seperate unit or did you get shift firmness in your signature programmer? Jim

Bah, don't waste the money for an m'kay intermediate servo. Go for the billet one by Superior products. The apply area is abotu 35% more than the 'Vette one! I'd also put in an Overdrive super servo too.

Besides many of the newer truck have that servo already. My '99 didn't but my '01 does.

Here are some of the best prices... http://www.kdsperformance.com/4l60e.html

Sorry for the mix up.. The full name of the unit is Diablo Predator Programmer. Its all the same thing. I did the servo and could barely pull of a 2nd gear chirp with 3.42s i changed to 3.73s posi.and the first time I tuned the truck with the diablo i could pull off easy 2nd gear nice long squeels. I have just left the trans settings alone since the firs time i tuned them. I love the way it shifts now.

I put in the cheapie 15 dollar servo from KDS Performance. I guess my 01 already had it too because I didn't feel a damn thing! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

OneFastSilverado... thank you! Now someone will believe me when I tell them that new trucks have them!

INDIGO 5.3...what year is your truck? The HPP3 just bumps line pressure, and well that's about it. I'd go for a TransGo shift kit, billet intermediate servo, and billet overdrive servo. That will give firm, quick, tight shifts. You will be able to get a 1-2 bark easily and probably a 2-3 also
