Default Another Cam thread, sorry guys :(

I really hate posting up and asking info on cams considering how many cam threads are already up. But my question is a little bit different. I'm a member of the impala forum and while theres good info on there, there's not as much info for the 5.3 as i'm looking for. Here's the vehicle-

1995 impala with t56, 4.56 gears, 27-28" tall tires. Bone stock 5.3. Weighs around 4300lbs so pretty close to a NBS RCSB. I've been researching cams and saw where a lot of guys say not to go any bigger than a 224 with the 5.3, but i've been looking at either the 228R on a 110lsa or torquerV2 on a 111. Since i'm running a shorter tire and steeper gear than most of the t56 swapped trucks on here, i'm hoping i can get by with a slightly bigger cam than most would recommend. I'm hoping to turn the 5.3 around 6700, peak power at 6500, rev limiter set at 7000. Oh the 5.3 will have ARP rod bolts btw. So with the 2 cams i've listed i'm kind of leaning toward the TorquerV2 since it's gonna make a little more power a little higher. Would that be the better choice for my application or is there another cam out there better suited? I'll also be spraying 100-150 on occassion if that makes any difference. Any help/opinions are greatly appreciated and again i'm sorry for adding another cam thread on top of the other 1000's. Thanks guys!

I would have PatG spec out a custom grind for your application. Then you know you're getting exactly what you want. It's about $25 to have it spec'd and cost the same as an off the shelf cam to grind. Had I not gotten a REALLY good deal on a head/cam package with everything needed for cam swap, I would've gone that route.

i actually had a custom grind cam in the lt1 motor i pulled and that was by far the best decision i made. It was exactly what i wanted in every way. i had thought about going with a custom grind this go around too, but plans are to build an lq9 next year and i'm def gonna get a custom grind for it. When i get done playing with the 5.3 i'm prob just gonna sell it and i was thinking a 5.3 with an off the shelf cam would sell a little easier than one with a custom grind.
