well when i attempt to do a good burnout to get the nittos hot and sticky my truck shifts to 2nd gear and bogs a little. is there any way i can get rid of that besides a shift kit or getting more ponies to keep the truck in 2nd?

It will giver better shift extension and keep you out of the "bog" rpm range....this bogging is not in your case a bad one. It just means your tires are sticky and holding well.

 

put it in first gear and i think it will not shift at least it doesnot when i do it. Mine has shifted into second while doing a burnout once but i could not even tell it kept high rpms and did not bog.
