My alternator decided to crap out when I was tuning my truck yesterday. I think it might be because I was running 6000rpm+ getting the VE table in line. Its an excessive amperage 250a model and im pretty sure nate can fix it, but is this a problem anyone else has had with blowing alternators at high rpms?

I had one do the same thing. Starting smoking and ended up catching on fire.
Aftermarket. They usually put smaller pulleys on the high output aftermarket ones to keep the idle voltage up, so when you spin your engine to a high RPM they are going much faster than an OEM one would. I think on mine I spun it fast enough that the rotor expanded and came in contact with the stator. Game over after that.

Thats weird. I put a CS144 on my 95 and once I hit 4500 rpms it stops charging until I go below 4500. I've checked all the PCM settings and the only thing it can be is the regulator shutting it off. The stock CS130 never did this. Maybe it does that to keep from letting the smoke out at WOT.
