Alternator questions...
#1
Okay most of us stockers have a 105 amp alternator. So I need to know the following...
1. What is the stock idle amperage of the 105 with everything off and the truck running?
2. How much amperage do the exterior lights draw (head, tail, sides, fogs)?
3. Do LS1 fans draw about 25-30 amps at full power?
4. Does the A/C compressor and fan on Setting 4 draw a ton of amperage too?
My charging system is already being taxed with the LT package, LS1 fans, and a big stereo & I am highly considering tossing on a set of ASP pullies and that with a stock alternator would be bad for sure.
Thanks!

ill tell you what.at an idle with--driving lights-headlights-big stereo-a/c-fans it was holding at 12.02volts. now that i have installed a 130 amp alt--13.12volts.

Yeah mine is pretty low with the stock alternator and I am going to upgrade to a 180 or 200 at the end of the month, I consider this a durability mod more than anything. Don't feel like burning the front of the truck off by overloading that alternator.
Hell I have a 1 farad cap for my two amps and still lack there. If just my lights are on with the A/C and fans off, my volt meter drops and recovers with a 500/1 JL amp and a 12W3v2!
Hopefully a 200A alternator with 4awg battery wire will keep me from undercharging at an idle with an underdriven crank pulley and overdriven alternator pulley...or at least 13V.
