Default ALL WHEEL DRIVE

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THE AUTO 4-WHEEL DRIVE OPTION ON A Z-71 IS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME AS THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE ON THE NEW SS. ONLY ON THE SS YOU CAN'T TURN IT OFF. I DO KNOW THAT WITH THE AUTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE YOU CAN DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY AS FAST AS YOU WANT.

Default Re: ALL WHEEL DRIVE

no, they are completely different

The Z71 auto function engages the axle but doesnt engage the t-case until the truck detects slippage.

the SS is constant power to all for wheels 38% up front and the rest to the rear, it also uses a viscous fluid in the t-case to differentiate the power when slippage occurs
