Default Which Airaid Intake AFTER E-Fan Upgrade?

First post... (and I have searched before posting)

I have a 2003 Silverado with 5.3L (LM7)
  • Purchased Black Bear AutoCal and Tune (to be tuned)
  • Purchased Airaid Jr. Kit 200-712 (to be installed)
  • Already have a 34" radiator, and want to swap clutch for electric fans. (to be done)

Before I open the Airaid intake, I noticed the tube for my 2003 is squished to clear the clutch fan / hood. The "2005 truck (w/ Electric Cooling Fan)" has a different part number 200-719 which I imagine would likely have a bigger opening as it has less obstacles to clear under the hood. They are the same price and seems like the 2005 intake would have better flow.

Anyone try this before I shell out another $200 for a 2005 intake (200-719) and try to get a refund for my 2003 intake (200-712)?

I know there are other intakes out there but would like to stick with the Airaid, I saw a dyno comparison of different models (likely here) and it seemed to perform the best and also be one of the cheapest.

Thank you!!

I did 3 e fan conversions on my own trucks and just bought the airaid MIT tube for the e fan trucks everytime and installed that afterwards. It's a nice smoothe tube without the big notch for the clutch fan shroud. They fit perfect as they should.

Cool so sounds like I should be ok to order the 2005 intake and that would be the better way to go as there will be no notch.

Thanks!!

I used the 05'+ intake tube on my 2000 because it was larger, fit perfect. I didn't have the larger radiator, used F-body efans.

I have aftermarket Derale Efans and a Volant Intake for a 2009+ truck. It all fits but required that I swap to a later model MAF probe.

I'd probably just get a tube only and keep the stock box and MAF if I did it again.
