Default air intake tubes

Now that I got the fan shroud out, I need a better looking tube. How is everyone liking the Airaid MIT? There's another one too that I can't think of. What other ones are yall using that have gotten good results from?

I currently run the stock K&N black intake, but I think they have a series 77 or something like that which comes with a polished intake tube.

I have the true flow intake system (www.trueflow.com). It's basically just a foam panel air filter and a steel tube going from the airbox to the throttle body. I didn't notice any power gains but it sure cleaned the engine compartment up. It's similar to the Airaid MIT design. Check it out.

I used to have an airaid MIT but my 1/4 mile times showed little to no improvement. My gains (if any) ranged from 0-.01/.02 seconds. So I ended up selling it because it was a pain to get the airbox opened and it transferred more vibrations to the box/MAF. However, it did look nice, so if a clean look is what your going for...then, it's not bad.

you can go to http://shop.airflowonline.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv and build an intake tube for much less.

Whatever system you use, make sure it does away with the factory rubber couplers- they create a full inner-diameter obstruction of about 1/4".

See my controversial intake shoot-out thread. Three intakes, same day, same dyno. aFe made some unreal numbers

Airaid mit is actually made to fit with the shroud, its a pancake pipe like the stock one, just doesnt have the extra lower chamber (which is usless btw).

But something that is the same diamter throughout is best...

and like smokey said, afe is making some good numbers.
