I have a K&N FIPK on my 03 and it is very loud. I am thinking about changing it out for a Volant. How loud are they?

I run the Volant system on both of my trucks. I like these because you don't hear any induction sound (sealed box). Systems with an open filter tend to be louder.

Iv'e run an AirRaid, K&N FIPK, and now a UPD. Each one was progresivly better than the last. The AirRaid was the loudest, and the UPD the quietest. You might say I would do it again LOL.

My FIPK really made a sound increase at WOT. I really like K&N intake kits and have one on my F-150 (that was a HUGE increase in sound with that) too. Any open filter and one piece tube w/o silencer will get you that sound you want.

I can't hear the intake noise for the scream of the supercharger.I'm considering building a custom cold air box out of fibreglass to get a greater volume of cold air from under the bumper.Removing the K&N filter at the track is worth about 2 tenths with my current setup so I know there is room for improvement.I don't care what it sounds like as long as it will flow 1000+ CFMs with no restrictions.

same here. i liked the sound of the K&N. after a while you don't even notice it. especially after an exhaust setup. the best time is when you 1st install it because you notice the difference, then you forget about it
