Default AIR Injection System Removal???

What a usless waste of space. I know some trucks have and some don't. depending on were the truck was sold. I have already replaced both valves since I have owned the truck. Since I am in California I need it to pass when it goes to the smog only test. The do the visual in side and out, but also hook it up to a computer and do a sniffer under Partial load.

Could I Just put a newer computer from a truck that was not equipped with AIR injection in there??? Or just have mine reflashed and remove the system, or is there some thing in or on the car that Identifies that it is supposed to have that system on there???

Last week I got the code again telling me I needed to replace the air injection valve. I cleared it and it hasnt been back since. But since the system only works when you start/ warm up the car it seems like removing it should be no problem if you made the proper changes to your engine manegment system. I was told the corrected this isuue in the years that followed so that the AIR systm was no longer needed.

Can Any one point me in the right direction???
