I'm just over here like drink, horse...DRINK!!

but seriously npt size call outs can be confusing to somebody that doesn't drill and tap holes for a living.

I'm assuming tapped section of valve cover is going to be relatively thin. 3/8 npt is 18 threads per inch. .055" pitch. If section thickness is 1/8" that's about 2.25 threads of engagement. Probably enough for what you want to do, but not ideal.

I wonder if he knows drills come in decimal, fractional, wire gauge, metric, left hand, single flute, center cutting/face cutting, 118°, 135°: etc. I mean the list is miles long, but lets not forget, he thinks youre wrong ahahaha

Sorry, **** cracks me up.
i know. I did google and I felt not trust myself if i get wrong size. That’s why I gave a chance comment here. I guess just order bung and once i have it. I will measure and find right drill bit and tap.

The science is already done for you man. Literally, a 100yrs+ of R&D are behind those charts you find on google. I have been a journeyman machinist nearing 12 years, that guy Feed obviously knows his stuff. Just hit it with a 9/16 bit. I myself would hit it undersize and ream it to .562 for a nice round hole, or weld in a bung. But, I like welding. Went to school for it. I weld everything. Liquid bolt.

But I digress, 9/16 and call it a day. Lube up the tap nice and wet, hold the valve cover securely (npt taps by hand are tricky) and make sure it goes in straight and square. Some oil resistant tape or dope, and let er ride.
