I installed a AEM intake on my truck yesterday, easy install. They now have a new filter that does not require oil in the filter, its totally dry, and is still re-useable. I took it for a run, and in addition to some extra noise at WOT, the mid range seems a bit stronger. Its too early to see if it helps fuel economy any, but I've been averageing 18 since I got the truck almost a year ago, so I'll update this in a bit with new numbers, if they are different. Like I said, it went in real easy, AEM really did their homework on this, everything fell into place like it was a factory piece

The kit came with a cleaning solution- done in a water filled bucket. It's dark but I'll try to snag a pic for ya...
As for the noise, you can def. hear it, I also have a FM Super 40 exhaust system on as well (crap I know, but it sounds good enough to turn heads
)
Edit- In the pic it looks like the filter is hitting the fender, its not. The filter goes under it. And no the coolant isnt low either

Seems like a pretty cool concept. I've been wondering when a manufacturer was gonna make a synthetic filter that didn't require oil...I wonder if it will catch on and the other CAI companies will follow suit. Maybe the different filter design has an effect on the intake noise BadAssChevy327??*EDIT* I see you got the pic! Thanks! Nice looking unit
