99 Z-71, Need more power ideas!!
Truck has 100000 miles on it, and runs great.
My thoughts are:
Headers (what kind?)
Air intake (what kind, K&N?)
port the TB?
Looking for bolt on ideas for now.

I think there is going to be a Group Purchase on the UPD intakes sometime soon. They are one of the nicest intakes out there IMO. You can get it with a K&N or not.
Headers - Pretty much all the mid/long tubes out there produce similiar results. Just think of your Z71 as a '00 SS as far as power from headers is concerned.(account for the smaller motor though)
You might want to think about some electric fans. They are a worth while mod to free up some power. The flexalite 282 fans seem to be a very nice setup but, you need a wider radiator core(6.0L size) for them to fit. You could also use LT1/LS1 fans with a little fabbing.
The ported TB is about the same as it would be on a fbody. Probably good for a few hp but, whether you notice it or not depends on how in tune with the truck you are. 100000 miles = IN TUNE.
I'm sure somebody can chime in with some other stuff. Try doing a search on headers. There is quite a bit of info stashed away in here about the different types.

I too would like a little more power from my 5.3 Z-71. Towing the 30th is about all she wants!
I've been thinking some type of (inexpensive) forced induction might be the best way to go...
BTW: I think we might have met down at Stanton a while back.
