Pumps rarely go.. unless the fuel filter has been so dirty for so long that it burnt it up... have a shop check the fuel pressure and let them tell you what they find.
and Cut the damn cats off.. sheesh, lol jk.

If it is cutting it out a certain RPM than some type of airflow must be restricting it. If it is not sput puddering at around those RPM's (for example wanting to die) than I dont think that it is fuel (if it feels like it wants to die while it is climbing on RPM than it might be fuel). I think that it might be that cats as well as some have mentioned.

oh are you getting any codes. i would run a scan and see if you have any missfire codes... if you do and eliminate all the stuff that could cause a missfire code, example plugs wire cap and rotor. after all that is done. I would replace the ignition control module. The ignition control module on these controls the dwell output, one of these wires on the module could have gone bad. When they do go bad they will not want to pull anymore under load.
I had a friend that this happened and it turned out to be this. He would get a check engine light when he would go uphill and would start missing.
Hope that helps a little. BTW thanks for changing your avatar... that dude you had on there bugged the hell out of me.
