Default 99 to 02 pcm

I've been hearing how the 99 pcm sucks and you should change it for a 02 pcm. no if i wanted to do this do i need to get a actual pcm or can i have nelson just program my 99 so its like a 02? and if i need to get a new one were is a good place to pic a 02 pcm up and what would one cost.

You have to add the wire and get a 02' alternator as well or you'll have the flashing battery light all the time.
Or just have it turned off with a tune.

Yea, I think that Nelson figured out a way to turn it off with the tune...I installed a 145a alt (just like in creederado's write up) and ran the wire to the PCM (can't remember which pin though). Works like a charm. You're probably best off finding a donor 02 PCM core...not sure what's involved in trying to flash the 02 logic into the 99...I think they use different operating systems or something like that
