Default 97 1500 to 2500 conversion to the big block

I want to buy a new motor for my 1997 Z71. I was thinking about the base 383 LB but I was struck with an idea...a conversion to a 454. I've alway's wanted a 454 or 502, but I'm on a budget. Any advice?

Target:L31 355 to 454 Conversion

I want to find a wrecked 2500 with a 454 with all the accesories and possibly with the pc's/wiring

What would I need to make this happen?

If you are doing a Vortec Bigblock intake and fuel injection, the PCM you have now will run the engine and trans, it just needs to be refalshed.
