Default 95 Chevy diesel.

I have a 95 Chevy diesel. Has the 6.5L turbo. When I drive it, I can't hear or really feel the turbo working but when I take the filter off I can see that the turbo is indeed running. Is that how it is supposed to be?

You may not hear a turbo whistle on those motors. A easy check is just to figure out how much boost they are suppose to run stock and hook up a vacuum/boost gauge and see what your truck is making. If it's no where near what the factory settings are, then you know you have a boost leak or issue with the turbo system.

I've seen them make as much as 15psi with aftermarket exhaust. That being said, we have one as a farm truck with low miles and it doesnt have a lot of power but gets great fuel mileage. We use it as a service truck, and pull with the 8.1 and Dmax
