I've raced one at the track and it ran low 15's.

 

My buddy bought a 93 new and it went 15.11 right off the showroom. Now it runs low 10's with the factory A/C blowing and still looks stock except for a cowl hood and chromed stock wheels. It is rare to find one running faster than 13's though.

PS When it was still stock we were at a muscle car shootout and got in on a dyno challenge. His truck made 224rwhp bone stock and my car at the time was a bone stock 89 turbo trans am and it made 230rwhp. I remember his disgust when I told him he was only a K and N away from making the same power as a stock V6 !!

no sir. the only difference between my truck and any other 99 stepside is the 400ss decals on th bed

 

i believe some of you are thinking of the 454ss , which is a legitimate truck in that it actually has a 454. the 400ss is a NBS truck... sold mostly in mexico

 

i think they do only sell them in mexico, but they sure are real nice looking though, but hey I am pretty sure there is alot of people on here that can help you make that 4.8 go really fast!!!

 

ive always wondered what those 400ss trucks had i was told they were carbarated 400

 

the 400ss is a normal silverado with a 5.3 which is what i see all the time in them , but they look awesome with the appearence changes which are painted front bumer painted grille painted rear bumper and decals they really look awesome ! ill try to post a picure of one so you northeners can see what they look like.

 

Sould be a good race.Get the jump and have fun. Don't bet much.
