What would cause this? Has anyone had this problem? 2002 8.1 2500 Avalance. While rolling down the street sometimes you get a total shutoff, with no start. The after you wait awhile it will start again. This is very intermitten problem, some days it will be fine then other days it will shut off and start right away, and other times it won't start. Any ideas would be great. I did change the fuel filter. You can hear the fuel pump engage before you start it.

 

Probably the Crankshaft Position Sensor. It is a fairly common problem in the early 8.1 motors. The part is cheap, but I hear it is a PITA to install.
