Default 799 (243) Head Milling with cam on LMG

I am currently gathering parts to start the build on my 2008 Silverado 5.3 and from what I've via the vin is that I have a LMG 5.3 and what I have come up with is it has the similar 243/799 heads with a cast iron block and flat top (4.8L) pistons (which I cannot confirm yet).

Current status on the truck within the last month is a fully built DTS rear end along with RPM Transmission Level 5 trans and a built Merchant Automotive transfer case. Everything now has about 2,500 miles on it and working flawlessly.

I would like to start ordering parts this week for the motor. Parts in mind are a TSP 220r cam kit along with the DOD delete kit, headers and custom intake. I wanted to mill the head .020 to .030 without any PVC issues. I am open to any ideas or people who have done similar "builds" with input. I know there is better cam options out there for HP and TQ goals but it was just a start.

texas speed has the best prices on combo packs for engine rebuilds. I did have to buy a rear cover gasket, everything else came with the kits. Get the valley cover off summit or ebay instead of the 120 dollar one from texasspeed. they are the same exact GM part number and 100 bucks different

Watch your Dynamic compression ratio when milling the heads with an aftermarket cam. Keep it under 8.5:1 on pump gas. I run a BTR truck Stage 2 and milled my 243s to 63cc which is .010" I think and ported through Texas speed. With the cam I use it puts me at 8.5:1 DCR at sea level and 10.5:1 Static Compression.
