Default 700r4 stall in procharged 99 silvy

What stall in a 99 rcsb with 4.8, procharged ( 15lbs), and 700r4?. Also have 31" tall tires and 4.10's. The 6.0 will be going in soon too, so I'd like to buy for the present and near future?.....I was thinking 2400 stall, but would like some other opinions. It spends 99% of the time on the street, so it needs to have "manners".

I have an almost brand new 2000 stall converter forsale. Like 200 miles on it, it stalled around 2k-2200 in my firebird. $150 shipped.

The transmission in your truck is the 4L60E. I would go with the Yank TT3000. My truck has great "manners" and it knocked about a half of a second off of my ET. I just drove my truck to Kentucky and back (568 miles each way) overt the weekend and you would have never known the converter was in there. It's the best mod I've done to my truck. You should see if you can find someone who is somewhat local and has a converter in their truck and see if they will take you a ride in it. You won't believe how the drivability is uncompromised. I wouldn't go with anything less than a 2600 (really 2800 myself) converter. I think there is too little of a gain with anything less for the amout of money and hassle associated with the install.

Yeah Ive driven with a 2200,2600,3000,& 3400! The 3000 had damn good street manners and good performance. The 3400 had ok street manners and damn good performance. The 2200 and 2600 felt damn enar stock!

I too am a little new to lockup converters, but the way I understand it is that the converter will still lockup at part throttle below the stall speed, like when your cruising down the highway, right? And around town, it really doesn't slip to high unless you stand on. Is that correct too? Do you need to add a extra cooler with the tt3000?

i dont think it matters what you do to a 700r4 or a 4l60e they will not be a 4l80e. they are very different monsters

It's a 700r4. It was a M5. I blew it up and it ripped the driveshaft in half. Since my dad builds race automatics for a living, I decided to put 700r4 in it. I would ask my dad ( and have asked him) about what stall to use, but he has no experience with centrifugel superchargers. I bought one today, 2500 stall. It'll have to do for now, I really want it back on the road. There will be nothing electronic about this transmission, so I don't reallly know if comparing it to a 60E is apples to apples or not. It'll also be non-lockup so it will not act like your 3000 does at cruising speeds. Thanks for the input though, I do appreciate it.

With 4.10's, it ran outta engine on 28" tall tires in the 1/4. The 31's allowed for high speed, transmission blowin, driveshaft ripping fun.
