THe Yank has a lockup clutch, so your highway cruising won't change a bit. You will have a hell of punch off the line if you can hook up, but it will lack ever so slightly on the top. The trade off is WELL worth it though. In a 1/4, you will trap about 2mph slower, but be considerably quicker. With a converter, and shift kit, I gained abotu .7 in the 1/4.

I think Brian and Tom both sell them.

Or try TCI and save $350. Some people say TCI isnt as good, but they have been around a long time and build a quality product IMO. Alot of old school guys use the TCI.

I have a 4.8 with 3.42's and 31' tires even with nitrous I could not cut better then 2.3. I dont even have bit of traction problems. Your 60's sound about right. We need a stall.

i wouldn't mind having that 60' time. with an aftermarket exhaust, you tend to lose torque down low. that is why i went with a TC. traction is an issue though. need to have posi if you are going to put in a TC. posi and the yank were money well spent. probably the best mods i have done. my 60' times went from a 2.70 down to a 2.49. i bet with some weight reduction i can get it down another tenth. my ET's went from a 15.7 down to a 15.3. the yank3000 works fine for towing. i tow a couple times a year. no problems yet.

What is the deal up top? How is it lacking?

The higher stall converter is less effecient than the higher stalls. The lose is minimal, but well worth it.

It's like this ... the engine doesn't have the power to stall the converter up high, so it binds a little more up top, like around 90 on mine when it was relatively stock.

There's lots of tech stuff in it, some of which I'm not sure I understand, but ... it's there.

I have an ECSB with basically the same mods as you do, a Magnaflow cat-back, AEM intake, and a HPPIII, but I also have the Yank TT3000. I only have a 3.42 rear but I do have the 5.3 motor. My best 60' so far has been a 2.03 with a 14.68 ET. I have ran a 14.57 but only had a 2.13 on that pass. I just wish I could of had a better 60' on that run. What kind of ET's do you run? I would imagine low 15's in a RCSB??
