Default .600" lift on 5.3L

Just wondering if anyone has tried a cam with close to or around .600" lift. I know that comp offers the XER lobes with .581" lift, but I was just wondering if anyone had went bigger than that without any issues. Already have patriot gold duals so springs are not an issue.

depends on the head flow. some heads flow less at .600 than at .550. so then it would hurt more than help.

Well then how much do the stock 5.3L heads flow? Anybody? Better at .600, or better at .550?

I have a futral motorsports .588/.588 lift with 224/224 duration. I put them cam in at about 11,000 miles and it has 52,300 on it now. The motor gets stronger eveyday if you want my opinon. Go with that stastic if it makes you feel any better. Stock heads and drive train too...

wrong. all lsx heads flow to .600" lift. just make sure you have springs to support the cam. and that large a cam will need a good intake and exhaust. have fun tuning

Would having that much lift be hard on my valves? Would it shorten the life of the valves? Any other cons to going with that big of valve lift?
