Default 6.5TD- Duramax 6.6?

Hi all.
I have a question regarding a swap on diesel engines. Will the Duramax diesel 6.6 swap into a 93' Chevy 3500 ext. cab. long bed SRW in place of the old 6.5 litre Turbo diesel?
Thanks,
Philip S.

i seriously doubt anyone around here will know exactly what it takes to do that swap. anything can be done. i think to consider it you would want to have the entire set up out of the dmax, talking motor, tranny, pcm, wiring harnes, exhaust, fuel tank and pump. radiator and intercooler, all sensors....... basicaly just swap everything over complete.

There is one guy in Texas who is swaping D-maxes into 2500-3500 Suburbans. I'm sure nothing will bolt up right and you will have to swap most everything. Just add an intercooler to your 6.5 and maybe some propane injection.

Yes, I am aware of that guy, he knows what he is doing. However, the 3500 is a stick, so I don't believe a tranny swap would be needed, however I'm probably wrong. But it would be defintely a project that wouldn't be worth it for the money and time spent. I know of plenty of mods to do to the diesel, I was just wondering if the swap could be done easily.

I'm pretty sure the guys on thedieselpage.com were successful in putting a Dmax into an old body style truck, but it was a BIG project.
