The bellhousing bolt patterns are different. I believe that the old SBC has an extra hole that the Gen III engines do not.

Both new and old bell housing will bolt up, might not have the center top hole in the bell housing, but it's not necessary. You will just need to make sure the input shaft does not go into the pilot bearing to deep, or it will cause the thrust bearing to fail in the motor. If it is a little to long, you can use a grinder, or cut off wheel to shorten the input shaft some. Then as long as you have a flywheel that fits the motor and a clutch plate that fits the input shaft on the trans, your go to go.

The heads on this engine are the stockers. But I might have the hook up on 2 6.0 HO blocks for $200.00 each . Stay Tuned for more info.

The LQ9 (HO) and the LQ4 (from 01 and up) use the same aluminum heads, with a 317 casting. Main difference is the pistons and connecting rods. LQ9's are flat tops and the rods are a little heavier and stronger. LQ4's are dished.

99-00 6.0's have a longer crankshaft and iron heads.
