Default 6.0L swap to 6.0L

2000 Silverado 2500 ECSB 6.0L(LQ4)/4L80E/2WD/4.11(GT4)

I want to take out my engine(LQ4/100,000 miles) and drop in a motor that has more HP. This way, I will have a fresh block to boost with a S/C later on, and get more HP now. I am looking at the VETTE motors...LS2, LS6 with more like 400HP.

I think I have around 325HP with W4M ECM/DUALS/AIR KIT~??? I am wanting to bolt the new motor in with little or no modification. Are the transmission pattern and bolts gonna match~? What about the throtle cables, and the fuel rails. Fuel cost(93) is not an issue, as it is a weekend killer.

well the LS2 will bolt but the compression ratio is going to be killer because they are something like 10:9. Almost near the 11 range.

Why not just rebuild it to a 408
No need to blow big bucks on aluminum blocks to save 60lbs in a 5500lb truck.

you might look into the swap more before you do it. i think that the LS2 requires a little different electronics. like the knock sensors and things. i could be wrong but i dont think it is the same engine with different internals.

I like the idea of the 408 CID engine~! My truck is just now starting to show signs of weakness (oil specks on front of trailer after 100 miles/80mph). I want the most power, and least amount of modification~! LQ4/4L80E/4.11

Why not rebuild the Lq4 and add a supercharger!

I got 2 places in texas that can sell me a 408/LQ4 forged assembly for about $4500. Texas Speed(Lubbock, Tx) or Speed, Inc(Houston, Tx). I want to build up a strong motor, and then later on get a supercharger. I love the dirt track stuff - got me wanting more from my street truck than 300-325hp.
