Default 6.0L question

I am looking to swap in a later model LQ9 service replacement engine, but have a question. I know the earlier models used a longer crank to mate to the 4l80E, how did they do it in later models? Did they use a spacer behind the flywheel? If so i could just buy that, right?

They do use a crank spacer to mate to a 4L80E,I had to put one on my 5.3 to run a 4L80E.Be sure that you get the longer bolts to install the spacer.

Cool, thanks. Anything else different about it? Like did you use your stock flywheel and starter, or one for a newer 6.0L?

I was swapping a 4L80E into a Tahoe with a 4L60E so I had to change the flywheel and my starter still worked. On a 2500 you shouldn't have to change anything, just add the crank spacer to your motor and bolt everything back the way it was.
