Default 6.0 VS 6.2 in SUV

Hey kids. Time for a new SUV. My son and I are motorcycle roadracers and the new truck will be my daily driver, as well as tow a 4,500-5,000 lb trailer when going to the track.

Our current truck is a '05 Tahoe Z71 2WD. Doesn't have nearly as much torque as we need. Constantly downshifting.

How much better is the new 6.2 in the Yukon Denali vs. the 6.0? We really like the way the Chevy looks compared to the Yukon, but you can't get the 6.2 in the Chevy. I know the 6.0 has been around for a while now in the trucks and from what I've read, it seems like a great motor with lots of aftermarket parts available.

Has anyone here done much towing with the 6.2? I'm curious as to how the 6 speed trans is compared to the 4 speed.

Looking at '07 Suburbans vs. '07 Denali XL the prices are very similar, but you get 25 more hp with the Denali. It's also pretty hard to find a low mileage Suburban 6.0, while there are tons of Denali out there.

All input is appreciated.

The 6.2s in the Denali trucks are the same 6.2s available in the pickups as a towing option, they're proving to be very strong and respond well to tuning. The 6 speeds behind them are strong as well, and IIRC, the Denalis have 6L90Es which are tough units that can tow well.

It's too bad you can't get the 6.2 in the Suburban. Front end is much cleaner looking than the Denali, IMO.

we have a few denalies, pulled a 32 foot float boat pretty well... have never towed anything heavy though...

I think the non denalies are 6.0L or at least in the 2500 sububran its a 6.0L Im guessing there is no seat of the pants difference in the 6.2L in a denali vs a 6.oL in a suv or truck.... you can make up some ground in the other with gears, i think a 373 or 410 vs the denali only gear is 3:23

there are both good motors and if the sububran is a 2500 its going to pull better
