Default 6.0 swap ?'s

Ok I have done some researching here and on other sites. Hi my name is Chas and I am a powerholic..... I want to do a 6.0 swap just like everyone else. first of all, what is the best motor to do it with. It is going to be a DD and it is 4wd so I do take it offroading a bit. I want something that has a ton of power but don't want to throw more than 2-3k into the project. No FI yet. I want to build a reliable truck with more power is my goal. Track times don't matter. (I have a 5.3 with intake and full exhaust and custom tune now)

what motor, cam suggestions, other components, is it possible, should I just bore out the 5.3 and do some mods to it?

i found an LQ9 for less then 1300 and everything from my 4.8 will swap right over.

Same goes for your 5.3. and id say for a cam maybe something in the 218-220 range youll also have to upgrade springs and pushrods for the cam

I may be wrong but to bore your motor to say 5.7 may be an option for you but doing for under 3000 might not be doable

the tranny wouldn't be a problem. That budget would be motor alone.

My stock 60e is holding up just fine to the LQ9. I've only matted it about 12 times though.
