I spent about 1800 on my swap with z06 cam and yellow springs! We arent but about 3 hours away we could knock that install out in a weekend! I am workin towards forced induction (turbo) I went with 6.0 cause it was cheaper than the alternative! If you have money to get the tvs then buy it! But if ya wanna save and build up the truck peice by peice then go 6.0 and be easy on the poor tranny and upgrade as needed then put the blower on!
My biggest complaint with the 6.0 swap vs. the 5.3 is realibility! Not the motor but drivetrain. I drive my truck to work everyday and can't be without it! So I am doing a little at a time untill i have it ready for more hp!

It's screwed up. I voted 6.0 by the way. I'm in college as well and I know money is the only thing holding you back, and I know a 6.0 swap would be cheaper. Plus one on what other people say with the bigger cubes. I'm doing a 6.0 swap on mine as soon as i get some financial aid rolling in so I'm not paying for everything out of pocket. Also, 6.0 now+head/cam+blower later= more power.

I have wanted to do a supercharger since I was 16 and now I have the mechanical ability and knowledge to do it myself. Money isnt really a problem since I have a good scholarship to school, the biggest problem is time and place. I dont have a garage or even a driveway for that matter, and I am studying pretty much every week all week. So basically if there is anything I cant do in a weekend by myself without a shop, then I cant really do it.
I just had my tranny rebuilt because it went out unexpectedly, so that should be good for a little while. I want to do a hydroboost brake setup, and a 14 bolt sf rear axle before either the supercharger or engine swap. I like the idea of the 6.0 swap first better.

we would be happy to! shouldn't take but a full day to swap it! its not real hard when you have guys like nonnie and skinnyman(sam) that know whats going on!

Cool man, now I just need to find one. I thought about doing a 4l80e swap at the same time. May as well right?
The 5.3 harness and pcm will work with the 6.0 right?

You will NOT be happy with the N/A 6.0 and 4L80E. I can guarantee you that it will be the same as, if not slower than, your 5.3/4L60E combo is right now. If you're using it as a building block for a future performance upgrade, then go right ahead. That 80E will soak up all of the extra power that the 6.0 has over the 5.3. 1st gear will feel like a dog. Been there, done that.
The 5.3 with a 1900 on it at 6 psi will live FOREVER. I ran my 5.3 with a Radix on it for about 80k miles, and when I pulled it apart it looked brand new inside. That was with meth and 10 psi through it as well. If I was going to start over and was in your position, it would be 100% no-brainer...1900 all the way.
