My main quib is it doesnt really matter which comes first since one is interchangeable with the other. Doing a 6.0/4l80e swap now would be easier than the tvs since its cheaper, and ill already have the 4l80e in place, because with a supercharged anything the 60e isnt going to last.

What about getting a rebuilt shortblock and adding some different heads instead of a longblock? Since I can use just about everything off of my 5.3 I might save some cash... Thinking about reusing the waterpump, alternator and bracket, ac, cam, springs, rods, exhaust, intake, throttle body...not sure about intake manifold and fuel rails/injectors?

I love wrenching on my truck, problem is severe lack of time/big tools

The 4l80e swap on a 4x4 isn't cheap. KySilverado totaled his somewhere around $3400 I think.

I'd do the blower. At only 5psi it would be like having a 422ci motor

some pretty sound advice in this thread, from the description you have given....there is only one option for you. If you install the TVS and leave it alone, you will have 100K of trouble free driving....and by then you can install the motor with the money you have saved.

I have yet to see a 6.0 swap cost less than 3K IF you are using a quality low mileage take out and figuring in all the incidentals.

If you shop you can find a nice TVS1900 in the mid 5K range with shipping, so 2500 more......10 hours less hassle.....and you still get 18mpg.
