I have a 2002 Sierra 1500 that had 160000 miles on it. I lost rings in 2 cylinders and decided to swap in an LQ9. I got the long block from Pace. It was ver well packaged and cost effective. I rebuilt the 4L60E with a beast shell, upgraded bands, added clutch packs and a CM pump drive and housing. Straightline in New Lenox flashed the PCM. Texas speed provided the headers. I had a UPR CAI and a Magnaflow cat back already.
The truck runs very strong. Friends have said the race car should make you smile, not the tow vehicle.

Mike at Straight line performance did the tune. They are a sponsor on ls1tech. It's just a simple flash to 6.0 specs and delete the codes.
As for $$, it is probably cheaper than most can do. I got several deals on stuff. The long block wa 2900.00 plus 300.00 core. Shipping was 30.00 to a business. The trans was cheap as it is the guy that just did my glide for the Camaro. The glide and Neal Chance converter are more than this swap. The headers werre about 550.00 from Texas Speed. All said and done I have about 5500.00 in it.
Now for the 3/4 ton rear springs and a stock pile of tires.
