Default 6.0 or supercharger???

I currently have an 04 with a 5.3. It has 90k miles and 706 heads. It runs decent now, but I need more. I'm debating on doing a 6.0 or supercharger. If I do the 6.0 I'd have a 232 cam and pac springs for it. I dont know if I want to deal with the motor swap. A supercharger would be pretty a fun install I think. What do you guys think I should go with? How much could I push my stock 5.3 with a supercharger? This is also my main motive of transformation so it has to be reliable.

the supercharger is going to give you much more than the 6.0 swap. The 5.3 is a good starting point. The 6.0 is a good mod, but it's not the end all be all. Trever1t is making somewhere aroung 500 rwhp with his magnacharged 5.3L I believe

6.0 swap is cheaper and easier. plus you can always supercharge it later. the itch will never go away we all know this!!!

Except I say do both...6.0 and a supercharger Be prepared to beef up your driveline either way though

Thats the good thing. It already has a built tranny with a small stall, 2600 I believe. I'm kinda on a small budget. I figured I'd do the supercharger now and maybe 6.0 down the road. I've been looking around at some kits and they all seem outragously high. Any good brands other than the obvious like wipple or kenne bell?

With 8.5lbs and the R1900 I make just over 500rwhp (518 or something)

Cant see how it'd be cheaper to pull and replace an entire engine than to slap a bolt on part. I guess if you find a cheap block and do all the labor your self it's wouldn't be too bad to do the 6.0 swap but it involves more than I'm capable of

I agree. The blower effectively increases engine displacement. That 5.3 will feel more like a big block power wise a 6.0 crazy torque! Remember though, that as you improve one system others will need improving.

If your going to change your motor, why not get a 408? It would be much more power than the 6.0, and wouldn't cost much more. You could build the 408 to have more power then the blower, and have a stronger motor, and add 100 shot of spray. Theres a friend of mine who got rid of his Procharger and got a 408, and has more power and more reliable. Just my.02

Thanks for all the input guys! I think for now I'm gonna stick with the supercharger. And if I can come across a 6.0 ****** it up and get it ready for boost. Anyone no where a decent blower is for sale?

Probably a silly question but, will the tvs 1900 feed both the 5.3 and 6.0 or would he need to start with the 2300 just in case he wanted to put it on the 6.0 later?
