so if i were to buy pipes that were made to hook up to 5.3 manifolds.. I would have to modify one of the down pipes where it attachs to the manifold?

I remember that creederado swapped a 6.0 exhaust on to his old GMC and he had to get a manifold also since the one side has a bigger collector. They will bolt to the head the same, but differently to the exhaust front pipes/y-pipe.

There is a ball gasket on the passanger side manifold on the 4.8 5.3s the 6.0 did not have this gasket, but it is removable. I have both 6.0 and 5.3 exhaust manifolds THEY ARE THE SAME.

So what you are saying is that if I had a 6.0 and bought a system that was designed to bolt up to a 5.3/4.8 manifold I could buy this ball gasket and be good to go?

Well I have a set of 5.3L off that I could do a photo shoot of... I want to know also. I do know there is a steel ring in the 5.3L system. Think passenger side.

Shut up, YOU! lol

5.3 manifolds (EGR off of my 00)

6.0 manifolds....

SAME, SAME, SAME.....

If they are different, I must have got luck, because I haven't had to change my exhaust once. I have had a 5.3 switched to a 6.0, then another 5.3 with different manifolds, and now back to a 6.0.......
ASK ME HOW I KNOW THEY ARE ALL THE F-ING SAME!
