Default 6.0 Radiator with K&N GenII??

Got my new 34" radiator and two 16" Zirgo fans in and was getting ready to install them when I figured out that the GenII uses the bolt hole inthe upper subframe I need to mount the radiator. Plus the heat shield overruns the hole about two inches. It dosnt look like I can move the heat shield over any either. Anyone done this swap with a GenII? How about other intakes? Do they use that bolt hole as well??

can you cut the heat shield? or notch it out so it would work.

Not really cause then all the tranny and coolant lines would be inside the heat shield. Kinda defeats the purpous of a heat shield, dont ya think?
I am thinking I may just sell the GenII and fabricate me something else. I got all this room from the efans, why not use it.

ok i have a better picture i think of what you are doing. would dropping the filter down help. you wouldn't need a heat shield then. of course i might be totally lost as to what your doing. who knows.

Get a volant cold air box and reuse the K and N tube... I have mine that way and the only screws that hold it together are at the bottom of the Volant box so you have no rad interference.

I ran into this way back when I had to get the bigger radiator to fit my Flex-a-Lites. I thought it was just me since the FIPK is also for the 6.0l. Well, maybe there's a different model for the 6.0 trucks because I had to strongly finesse everything where it belonged. I even had to loosen up the coolant tank and angle it a bit to get an extra bit of room. No real fix, but it fits.
