I am wondering exactly what year 6.0L motors will work with the 4L60E. I thought someone said the crank was different in a certain year/model (HD or 2500 series) and would not work with 4L60e. Thanks.

Ya there is a difference in the 6.0. The 2001 and newer will work for you. The 99 and 00 are the ones that don't fit because of the crank. The 2001 and new require a spacer between the motor and trans. Other than that it bolts right up.

The spacer is not needed with a 4L60E or 4L65E transmission.Early 6.0s had a thicker crank flange to work with a 4L80E and later versions 01 and later were offered in Escalades and Denalis used a 4L65E didn't need the thicker flange. The spacer was made to install a 4L80E to the late model crank for use in HDs and 2500s.

So in other words....any of them will work???? Which years are considered the better years, and anybody got any ideas of places to find a deal on one. Ebay seems hopeless!

2001 and up is what you need.
Use spacer with 4L80E.
Do not use Spacer with 4L60E.
