6.0 magnacharger install saga...

Got the kit yesterday. Installed it this morning, got to the tensioner part and found out they shipped me the wrong one. They gave me the part number and a local shop had one so I got it and fired up the truck. Misfiring, idles rough. babied it over to the dealer where my buddy works and found one of the 8.1L injectors that come with the kit is DOA . Can you belive there isn't one of these in all of Austin TX? Got one coming from Houston in the am. Hopefully that is all it will need and I can see what this will do for the truck. Overall the kit seems well put together and went in with no problem, except for the tensioner f'up .

New injector is in and the truck runs smoother than before the supercharger! I am having trouble wiping the smile off my face
It really throws the truck forward now. I tweaked the 4L80 pressure controller 1/4 turn and it really snapped up the shifts as well.
No ET's but, holy smoke, what a differance. I am going to get a Gtech soon so maybe those numbers might be close. I'll post'em.

They actually sent me a totally different unit than what was supposed to be in the kit. Had me stumped for a little while, so I took some pics and emailed them to magna so they could help me out. They were very responsive with both the tensioner and injector issues. Not sure about your tensioner slapping, I would call them and run it by their engineers.

Are you still using your HPIII tuning with the Magnacharger, or do they supply new tuning? I read somewhere that they don't want you using any tuners that modify spark and fuel delivery. Did you notice an increase in power/torque throughout the rpm range, or is there any rpm range that you feel it helped more than others, such as bottom end vs midrange vs top end. Did it change or increase the amount of engine noise?
Thanks,
Jason

Jason,
They send a superchips microtuner that is programed for your VIN. I uninstalled the HPPIII and will sell it. During cruise you can't even tell there is a blower, but give it some throttle and you will hear the whine... I like it. Its not loud or bothersome but you can hear it.

Sorry, Yea, it really boosts the bottom end. Its like it moved the whole torque curve down low. Before it would have to spool to at least 3000 to pull the truck really well. Now it throws the truck forward right off idle. Its perfect for daily driving.
