6.0 camshaft options
#1
I have a 2004 model 6.0 in a jeep with a mild tune, a set of headers, and a cold air intake. I am not concerned with drivability, gas mileage, etc...
My Question:
Does anyone know what camshaft i could run that would give me the most horsepower and torque gains without replacing injectors, rockers, etc..?
I am looking for something that i can slap in and go, maybe having to do a tune to support it. Oh ya, I am going to run a 75 shot of nitrous.
Any help would be great!

You won't need rockers, but you'll have to do springs with any aftermarket cam. As far as how big you can go without maxing out your injectors, I'd think that 212/218, or possibly 216/220, but you'll be pushing it with the latter of the two. I'm going to use a 216/224 .551/.551 115 in my LQ9, and I have a set of 31 lb injectors for it, which will hopefully be enough.

Damn, I guess that definitely leaves out the 216/22x for sure then, and even the 212/218.

Thanks for the information...
One other question... I know that swapping a cam will negativly effect engine vaccuum. I cannot run hydraboost because of the full hydraulic steering set up i have. Will that size cam cause me to loose brake power?

The weather here changes so much here. Can go up to 90's in the summer and -30 F in the winter. Very fun to tune here.lol....
But I'm thinking of changing the cam to a 212/218 or a 216/220.
