Default 6.0 cam choice

Hey guys I'm putting a 6.0 from an 03 escalade in place of my 4.8 in my 01' silverado. I got sum 243 heads to put on it. I want some opinions on what cam to use... i would like to put a Z06 cam in. but i don't know if that's a good idea??? I want to shoot for 400hp. Is this possible? Is there a better stock option?

p.s. sorry if this has been threaded be for. For some reason my search hasn't worked for a couple days. It just says no matches...???

a Z06 cam is small for a 6.0, I would go bigger if it were me.

Z06 cam way to small, you have an idea where you want to make the 400 rwhp at, down low up top ?

any other plans? good choice on heads 400 could be made with supporting mods

I would go with a TSP 224R or 228R if it were me depending on what converter you are going to run in it.

the trailblazer I6 stall is the one u want if you want a stock stall. otherwise go with something like the circle d 278 for more stall at still a good price. also i have the 224r on a 114 in my 5.3. it lopes pretty hard with the cutout open. i think the same came in a 6.0 would be awesome for dd and would still be sort of a sleeper as long as you dont run it through an open cutout lol

It will run fine with a stock stall.

I have the same size cam and it's very mild, the only way anyone would know it's cammed is 1) the higher idle and 2) on cold start the motor will shake more than the stock cam until the motor is heated up.

I wouldn't run a 224 in a 6.0 with a factory stall speed converter, even my baby cam in my 5.3 benefited from a higher stalled converter. Yes, you can run it that way, but the setup won't be optimized...get a matching converter and get yourself up into the meat of the powerband faster.
