It has to be connected after the MAF because that air is sucked into the passenger side out the drivers side into the intake. Therefore the way you have it has unmetered air entering the engine.

But it's not going into the induction system. It's only going into the crankcase and back out. Therefore I see no way it can affect the idle.

Sorry left out a word. Meant the nipple on the TB. I tuned my truck without that hose hooked up and when I hooked it back up, my truck idles about 150rpm above what Ive got it commanded for. Wheneve I put it in gear it gains speed on its own. Im lazy and just havent gotten around to messing with the throttle cracker/follower then retuning the maf tables to get everything back in line. Sounds like you kinda have the same symptoms as me.

The transmission problems are an easy 5 minute fix in the trans tables for the TCC, sounds like he left them stock. Mine are bumped up about 5mph over a stock 2001 tune.

Gotcha. That's the problem. The 3864 doesn't have provisions for the vac line. It will tomorrow though

I'm sure it is. I'm just tickled he got it too me so fast on such short notice. We'll get it ironed out.

I've got 60 miles on it now, and man what a beast. I haven't had it over 4,000 RPMs, but you can tell it just wants to run! Can't wait to get some more miles on it and get the tune dialed in.

I bought an arbor press from Harbor Freight for $50. It and a couple sockets and it was done. There's really nothing to it. There are a couple details to pay attention to, but they're all in the instructions. It may take you all of 1 - 1 1/2 hours.

I just went out at lunch, made it 10 miles, and the check engine light came on with a loss of power. I had to pull off the side of the road. The truck would idle, but wouldn't take any throttle. Then it came out of it. I made it to Pep Boys and they pulled the codes for me.

P0171 - Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 1
P0174 - Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 2
P0131 - H02S Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1
P0151 - H02S Circuit Low Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 1

They cleared the codes with no improvement. I checked both O2 sensors and both are connect and the wires not contacting anything hot.

When I first start it up, it won't even hardly pull itself. It cuts out horribly, popping and backfiring a little. Then it will come out of it and drive fine. However, after maybe 1/3 to 1/2 throttle, it doesn't seem to make power.

What gives?

It's a Black Bear mail order. Plans are to do a cable tune once it's broken-in. I'm wondering if he used the right injector values.

well if its running in closed loop and the o2's are bad then it will always run lean. does it run well when its not warmed up yet?
